Burton Reed, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT, Owner

Burt Reed grew up in Pleasants County, WV and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College graduating with a degree in Rehabilitation in 1992.  He graduated from West Virginia University magna cum laude with a degree in Physical Therapy.  While at WVU, Burt was awarded “The Student Clinical Achievement Award” and “Outstanding Achievement in Research.”  After graduation, Burt accepted a position in Fairmont, WV under the mentorship of Steve Murphy, FAAOMPT.  In 1999, Burt opened Mountain River Physical Therapy in Mineral Wells.  In October 2001, the Ellenboro clinic was opened.  In 2005 a clinic was opened in the Pars Brain & Spine Institute and most recently in 2007 three additional clinics were opened in West Virginia - Vienna, Wellsburg and New Martinsville. In 2008, two more clinics opened in Wheeling, WV and Leesport, PA.

Throughout Burt’s career, he has attended significant continuing education courses.  In 2005, he obtained his OCS (Orthopedic Certified Specialist) certification and in 2006, he obtained his FAAOMPT certification.  Burt has guest lectured at West Virginia University for manual and orthopedic physical therapy courses, and at Ohio University for business planning.  Burt states, “My goal is to continue to develop as a physical therapist which will allow me the opportunity to provide the best care for my patients.  I would like to thank my wife, Sandy, for her on-going support along with my children, Garrison, Eliana and Brodric Reed.”
